BLIK made the first pilot transfer in euro from the Spanish Bizum system to a telephone number registered at BLIK in PKO Bank Polski. This is the continuation of interoperability tests with European mobile payment systems, launched in late 2025. A transaction with Portuguese MB WAY was previously tested during the Web Summit 2025 in Lisbon, and on December 19, 2025 the PKO BP client accepted a transfer from this system.
The partners in the project are Bizum (Spain), SIBS (Portugal), Bancomat (Italy) and Vipps (Norse countries), as part of the EuroPA association, to which Blik joined in 2025. The objective is full interoperability, allowing instant P2P transfers to a telephone number between users of different systems in Europe without the need to install new applications.
Dariusz Mazurkiewicz, president of BLIKA stressed: "The first transfer to the phone from Spain to Poland is a milestone towards bringing the interoperability of European systems to the standard category. Further tests and expansion of cooperation with partners are intended to approximate the moment when the transfer to the phone number between countries will be as simple as the local P2P transaction, which is what nearly 450 million Europeans are waiting for."
In the future, BLIK plans to expand the testing and development of international presence, including payments at terminals abroad.
