The tragic news has spread to Poland today. On April 23, 2026, at the age of only 36, Łukasz Litewka died – MP at the Polish Sejm of the 10th term of office for the New Left.
The accident occurred this morning in Kazimierzowska Street between Sosnowiec and Dąbrowa Górnicza. The MP was on his bike when he was hit by a passenger car. Despite immediate resuscitation and transport to hospital, doctors failed to save his life. According to preliminary police findings, the cause of death was caused by a hit-and-run.
Łukasz Karol Litewka was born on May 9, 1989 in Sosnowiec. As a sociologist (a graduate of the University of Silesia), he has been a councillor of Sosnowiec City Council since 2014. In the 2023 parliamentary election, he competed from the last place on the list, and nevertheless won a parliamentary mandate with a record score in District No. 32, defeating, among others, the party leader.
He was primarily known as an influencer politician and charity activist. He founded Team Litewka Foundation, organized hundreds of spectacular collections to help sick children, seniors and animals. His social media profiles followed hundreds of thousands of people. Often called "a Member with a Heart" – he fought for animal rights, helped the needy and openly commented on social issues.

The death of Luke Litevka caused a huge shock and a wave of condolences throughout the country. Politicians of various options emphasize that the man who combined political activity with authentic help to another man is leaving.
