President Karol Nawrocki He officially convened the Cabinet Council on 27 August, thus starting a hot political holiday ending period. The invitation was addressed to the whole government and the deliberations are to be devoted to the most important topics for the future of the country.
Protecting agriculture against the effects of new EU trade agreements
The President wants to know what the plans of the government in key sectors are and how it will respond to international challenges such as the Mercosur agreement or the liberalisation of trade with Ukraine.

The importance of Cabinet Council for Polish policy
The Cabinet Council is a constitutional tool for the President to discuss with the Council of Ministers issues of particular importance to the State. However, it is a meeting about the political pronunciation – formal decisions are not made here, and the government is not legally bound by the Council's findings. Experts point out that despite the lack of real competence to impose solutions, it is a signal for the public that the President is actively involved in current disputes and is mobilising the government to act.
Although the Cabinet Council does not decide the fate of the laws or approve key investments, its media transmission and potential tensions between the President and the government make it one of the most important policy developments of the summer.
