Dawid Kacprzyk, a former Civic Coalition (KO) councillor and doctor who earned over PLN 1.6 million in 2025, has repaid PLN 500,000 to the Southern Hospital in Warsaw.
According to the city hall, starting June 15 Kacprzyk corrected 33 invoices covering the period from January 31, 2025 to June 16, 2026. The money has been credited to the hospital’s account.
„Corrected” or Returned?
The City Hall uses the euphemism „corrected the invoices.” Critics put it plainly: after the case of his record earnings and questionable presence on duty exploded in the media, the doctor is trying to protect himself from the prosecutor’s office and criminal liability.
The Southern Hospital had already terminated all contracts with Kacprzyk, and is now preparing a notification of possible fraud. The Supreme Medical Chamber (NIL) and the prosecutor’s office are also dealing with the case.
Background to the Scandal
The 29-year-old doctor, who did not have a specialization, was the coordinator of the Hospital Emergency Department. According to schedules, he was supposed to work an average of 331 hours a month – meaning over 11 hours a day, all year round, with no days off. At the same time, he was politically active, appeared on television and served as a councillor in the Ursus district.
The case caused enormous public outrage – especially in the context of staffing problems in public hospitals and patient queues.
