RegioJet, Czech private railway carrier, officially enters the Polish rail market.

Competition for current carriers

From September 18, 2025 Test driving of the RegioJet trains will begin on the route Warsaw-Krakow, and from 14 December 2025, regular calls on this route and on the next four routes are planned: Warsaw–Trójmiato (Gdynia), Warsaw–Poznań, Warsaw–Katowice–Ostrawa–Prague and Warsaw–Katowice–Ostrawa–Vienna. The company plans to employ around 300-500 employees and open ticket outlets in Warsaw, Krakow and Poznań.

RegioJet will offer four travel classes: Low Cost, Standard, Relax and Business, competing with the already dominant in the PKP Intercity market, among others, prices and comfort of services. The entry of RegioJet has a chance to introduce competition on Polish tracks, which could result in reduction of ticket prices And a bigger choice for passengers.

The catering offer on board the RegioJet also surprises low prices, for example, lunch can be ordered via mobile app and received straight to the range for several zlotys. In addition, coffee and tea are free for Standard, Relax and Business Class passengers.

RegioJet ticket prices in Poland for the start will be very low and promotional, especially until the end of December 2025, when the carrier will be driving test and marketing. The specific ticket rates have not yet been fully disclosed, but it is known that the objective is to offer prices far more attractive than in the current carriers, the PKP Intercity.
