On 6 October there was a tragic accident in the City Port in Wrocław just after 12:00. Drunk driver hit a 68-year-old security guard who died at the scene.

The course of a tragic event




The accident occurred during the routine rolling of wagons by a locomotive on the premises of the Municipal Port at Kleczkowska Street. The engineer who led the depot was under the influence of alcohol – A breathalysed study showed 0.54 mol.
The 68-year-old served as a security guard in the harbor and stayed on the tracks at the time of the incident.
Service response and investigation
Emergency services and police and the prosecutor arrived immediately. Despite rapid intervention by paramedics, the life of a man failed to save. The police are announcing detailed explanations of the circumstances of the incident, including compliance with health and safety regulations.
Witness interrogation has begun. For now, it is unclear why the victim was on the tracks during the train manoeuvres.
