Red Ford Mustang went to the Ciechanian police after being confiscated by a drunk driver.
Mustang for drinking

Driver detained April 19 in the Vow (Ciechanowski District), led sports Ford Mustang having 2,28 blood alcohol. A car worth about PLN 150 thousand was secured by police at the scene. This is one of the consequences of a new, strict law – as of March 2024 courts can forcefully confiscate drunk drivers' vehicles if they have more than 1.5 alcohol or cause an accident.

The unique sports car is equipped with a V8 engine with a capacity of 5 l and a power of 453 hp. Mustang speeds up to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds and will be a worthy opponent for irresponsible drivers on local roads.
Court decision and penalty for the driver
The trial ended with a conviction – driver Kamil S. received:
- fine: 150 daily units of 20 PLN (total PLN 3 thousand),
- the prohibition of driving for 3 years,
- cash benefit of PLN 5 thousand,
- payment of the costs of proceedings.
The most severe was the decision to lose the car to the Treasury.
New regulations and wave of seizures in Poland
As of 14 March 2024, the stricter law applies – drunken drivers' cars are definitely confiscated. By August 2025, more than 11,000. vehicles, however, the case of Mustang from Ciechanov was of particular interest, because the car did not enter the auction, only for police service. Normally the seized cars are auctioned, gaining the new owner for half the market value. In leasing or hiring a long-term driver pays the equivalent of the vehicle.
