This morning, November 18, 2025,Internethas experienced one of the greatest shocks in recent months. GlobalfailureCloudflare, a giant in the field of security and network optimization, has made hundreds of thousands of websites inaccessible. Among the victims were platform X (formerly Twitter), ChatGPT fromOpenAI, Downdetector, as well as numerous Polish portals such as digitalnexus.pl, spidersweb.pl or aniagotuje.pl. Interestingly, the dig.pl service remained intact and operated smoothly. The failure continues, although Cloudflare reports progress in repairing. This event recalls how the modern internet depends on several key players.

What happened? Crash Details
Failurebegan around 11:48 UTC (12:48 Polish time) when users around the world began reporting bugs of type 500 (Internal Server Error). Cloudflare confirmed the problem on its status page, reporting "widespread 500 errors" affecting the dashboard, API and numerous customer services. The company quickly launched an investigation, and at 12:21 UTC updated its status: services are slowly returning to normal, but there are still increased error rates during the remediation process.
Cause? So far no official details have been provided, but it speculates about a possible DDoS attack or configuration error – paradoxically, Cloudflare specializes in protecting against such threats. This is not the first such situation; in June 2025 a similar failure hit Google and Cloudflare clouds, causing global interference.
Troubled services: From global giants to Polish portals
The failure paralyzed not only large platforms, but also local sites. Here are some of them:
- Global: X (Twitter) – users could not load posts, which caused a wave of jokes on... X itself (thanks to the cache of some devices). ChatGPT andOpenAI- AI stopped answering questions. Downdetector – irony of fate, failure monitoring service itself fell. Multiplayer games like those from Ubisoft or EA also experienced outage’s.
- In Poland: Many Cloudflare pages have become unavailable. Digitalnexus.pl, spidersweb.pl and aniagotze.pl displayed errors, preventing access to content. Other affected portals include ITHardware.pl, firehouse.pl or światczytnikow.pl. In turn dig.pl, which does not rely on Cloudflare services, worked without problems, becoming an oasis for frustrated internet users.
Users also reported problems with applications like n8n, useme or even some AWS services, which shows how the internet ecosystem is interconnected.

User reactions: Frustration and humor on X and dig
On the X platform (which paradoxically partially worked) a wave of comments broke out. Polish users wrote: "Big Cloudflare failure, most sites do not want to act" - said @HOMIK_125P. Others joked: "As postcommunist Czarzasta became Marshal of the Sejm, the servers blew away. Even they couldn't take it," wrote @HubnerrMax.
Globally: "Cloudflare is down again. The wholeInternetFeels it" – complained @maheshflowcub. A @zoomyzoomm added: "Narrator: Cloudflare was not, in fact, down for only a few minutes". These reactions show how the failure affected everyday life – from work to entertainment.
At the Excavation, one commentator pointed out that he could not cook dinner because the most popular website with regulations on the Polish Internet fell – means aniagotze.pl.

Current status: Repair is ongoing, but problems persist.
According to the latest updates from Cloudflare, services regain stability, but customers may still encounter errors. The company promises a full investigation and report after completion. If the failure continues, it can have serious economic consequences – losses in e-commerce, productivity and trust in the cloud.
Impact on the Future: A Lesson for the Internet
This failure highlights the fragility of the global network. Cloudflare supports more than 20% of all internet traffic, making it a key but also a risky point. Experts advise diversification of services to avoid similar blackouts. For Polish users it is a reminder that even local portals depend on international giants.
