The Conflict Escalates Since the May Debate
The dispute between Stanowski, Mazurek and Wysocka-Schnepf escalated during the May presidential debate. At that time, the Kanał Zero editor publicly criticised the journalist’s competence and raised family-related topics, including, in one sentence, issues linked to the name of her son, which was given after his grandfather, a figure with a controversial past.
Court Summons and Media Storm
Dorota Wysocka-Schnepf announced a lawsuit against Stanowski and Mazurek. In her statement on the X platform, she stressed that attacks on her family, especially on her 14-year-old son, are a line that must not be crossed. She said the media campaign has left the boy afraid of living in the country. Interestingly, she recalled this 4 months after Krzysztof Stanowski said this sentence in one of his videos, quoting a fragment of Wikipedia.
The Letter Served vs. the Post on X
In the post Mrs Dorota shared on social media, a great deal of space was devoted to the hate Stanowski supposedly directed at her son. Yet in the letter itself, which this unbelievable and media-damaged hater received, Mrs Dorota devoted somewhat less space. As Stanowski himself mentions in his response video, it may be a few percent at most.
Stanowski: A Proposal to Take Over the Fundraisers
In his rebuttal, Stanowski announced that for the next two months he will not organise any fundraisers for sick children, and will redirect all requests from parents to Wysocka-Schnepf. He did so with clear irony, asking whether the journalist really cares about genuine help, or only about changing the narrative around her own image.

Who Was Maksymilian Schnepf?
Maksymilian Marian Schnepf (1920–2003) was a diploma-qualified colonel of the People’s Polish Army (Wojsko Polskie), a activist in the Jewish community and an academic lecturer. He was born in Drohobych, and during World War II took part in key battles, including Stalingrad and Lenino. After the war he headed the Military Studium at the University of Warsaw and held positions at the Jewish Historical Institute. In July 1945, Schnepf commanded a subunit supporting the Red Army and the NKVD during the so-called Augustów Roundup, an operation aimed at the Polish independence underground in the Suwałki region.
What Was the Augustów Roundup?
The Augustów Roundup was a coordinated military operation carried out in July 1945 in north-eastern Poland, aimed at breaking up anti-communist partisan units. Around 45,000 soldiers of the Red Army, NKVD, UB and MO took part. The operation led to the arrest of many residents of the region, some of whom “never returned home”, meaning they were most likely murdered. The roundup is one of the largest and most controversial acts of post-war repression in Poland, still provoking emotions and historical debate today.
