The European Commission has put on the platform This record penalty of EUR 200 million. This is one of the highest penalties imposed on the Chinese e-commerce platform in history.
Punishment was measured on the basis of Digital Services Act (DSA). According to the European Commission, this did not fulfil the obligation to carry out an adequate risk assessment and did not restrict the sale of dangerous and illegal products within the European Union.

- Authorisation for the sale of dangerous and illegal goods,
- Insufficient protection of consumers against counterfeits and non-compliant products,
- Inappropriate response to reports of infringements.
The Commission emphasises that consumer safety in Europe is the most important and platforms such as this need to take greater responsibility for what they offer millions of Europeans.
This has 30 days to appeal the decision. So far, the Chinese platform has not released an official statement on this issue.
It's another signal that European Union it is increasingly fighting against cheap Chinese imports, which often bypass EU standards of safety, quality and consumer protection.
