The sad news came to the believers from the Vatican worldwide yesterday. Angelo Gugel, a butler of three popes, died at the age of 90.
During his work at the Vatican, he was the butler of the following popes:
- John Paul I
- John Paul II
- Benedict XVI
Angelo Gugel worked in the Vatican, even during Pope Pius XII.
During the assassination of Pope John Paul II, on 13 May 1981, he sustained the injured Pope in Papamobile – when he was transported to the infirmary.
