According to the officialspokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Office,Ukraine is considering the possibility of suspending fire in conflict with Russia during the Olympic Games planned for February 2026.

This proposal forms part of the wider global ceasefire movement during the games. Italy, host of the Winter Games in Milan and Cortina, requested an official initiative to introduce an international truce for the event, including Ukraine and the Middle East. Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani stressed that it was a break from the war effort and support the idea of world peace.
