On Wednesday in Balczewo, a tractor pulling a tanker left the road and smashed into a single-family home.
What happened?
At around 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, a 70-year-old driver of a John Deere tractor was towing a tanker filled with liquid manure. For reasons not yet determined, the vehicle suddenly left the road, first crashing through a fence and then hitting the wall of the house. Residents were inside at the time – moments that could have ended in tragedy. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Emergency services on site
Rescue services and police arrived at the scene immediately, secured the area and helped those affected. The condition of the building required immediate evacuation – the house is currently unfit for habitation. The injured driver was taken to hospital, although according to findings he was sober. Police have suspended his driving license – the circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
The damage to the house proved so serious that the building is unfit for habitation. Everything happened literally within a few seconds – household members recall with disbelief that they were extremely lucky.

Neighbors and residents of Balczewo stress that this is the first such dangerous incident in the area in years. Many of them got involved in helping – some offered support to the evacuated families, others helped secure the damaged building.
