Prokuratura Rejonowa w Sosnowcu poinformowała, że podejrzany o spowodowanie śmiertelnego wypadku rowerowego 57-latek, w którym zginął poseł Luke Litevka, opuścił dziś areszt tymczasowy.
By decision of the court, a man was released after payment PLN 40 thousand property bonds. He was arrested immediately after the accident, which took place on 23 April 2026 on Kazimierzowska Street between Sosnowiec and Dąbrowa Górnicza.
Recall: Luke Litevka was on his bike when he was hit by a car. Despite immediate resuscitation and transport to the hospital, a 36-year-old MP died from injuries.
The suspect heard the charge of causing a fatal road accident. He's facing up to eight years in prison. The prosecution is still investigating and the case is developmental – monitoring, technical state of the vehicle and witness statements are ongoing.
Exemption from detention for a property guarantee does not mean the waiver of charges or the remission of proceedings. A man is banned from leaving the country and must apply for appointments in the D.A.'s office.
Information on the release of the suspect has caused mixed reactions among parts of the public. The family and relatives of the Member do not comment on the decision of the court.
