What happened?

Tuesday, July 29, 2025, a tragic bus accident occurred near Mars Alam in Egypt, which was attended by a group of Polish tourists. A mother died with a 7-year-old son, and three other Poles suffered injuries and required medical assistance. This information was confirmed by the spokesman of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Paweł Wroński.

Details of the accident investigation

Wednesday, July 30, 2025, a press conference of the spokesman was held Ministry of Foreign Affairs Paweł Wronski concerning the tragic accident of Poles in Egypt. The Ombudsman said among the fatalities are the mother and her childand three other Polish citizens were injured – two people were hospitalized (one badly injured, the other with general contusions), while the third person suffered orthopaedic injury but did not require hospitalization. Wroński assured that currently injured Poles are not in danger.

During the conference the spokesman pointed out that the site of the tragedy Polish consul, who remains in contact with the families of the victims, Egyptian services and residents of travel agencies. The consul collects all the necessary information and cooperates with the Egyptian prosecution conducting the investigation. The organisation of medical transport for one of the victims is also being considered

Egyptian investigators and Polish diplomacy conduct intensive investigations to explain the causes of the accident.
Preliminary findings indicate that the bus was moving at high speed and most likely lost control of the vehicle – there are also suggestions that the cause may have been a tyre rupture or driver error. The vehicle fell on the side of the road.

What was the relief for the victims?

• The injured immediately went to the hospital in Mars Alam.
• Two Poles are hospitalized; one person has suffered serious injuries (e.g. pelvic fracture and serious chest injuries).
• A third person suffered orthopaedic injuries, but did not require hospitalization.
• The Consul of the Republic of Poland and the residents of travel agencies are in constant contact with the families, services and Egyptian prosecutors conducting the investigation.

Who are the victims and the victims?

According to current reports, fatalities are 41-year-old Anita K. and her 7-year-old son. In total, five Polish citizens traveled in the microbus; three of them were injured – is a 37-year-old woman and two men aged 40 and 44. The 44-year-old man is most badly injured..
