A policeman from Inowrocław caught a perfume thief in a gallery during his free time

According to the Inowrocław Police Department, an unusual event took place in one of the Inowrocław galleries on 21 January 2026.

In time free from duty traffic police officer st. Sgt. Mikołaj Goszwski caught the thief red-handed after an expedition ran out of the store screaming for him "Help, thief, help". The police officer, as soon as he heard a distress call, went into action. He surprised the escapee, overpowered him, and recovered the stolen 8 pieces of perfume worth $4,600.

The perpetrator turned out to be a 17-year-old resident of Bydgoszcz, he now went to police custody – where he will answer for theft and is facing punishment for up to 5 years in prison.
