In Żyrardów, a 42-year-old man made an unusual but very generous „purchase.” He stole as many as 1,800 toilet paper rolls! The total weight was probably that of a hefty grocery bag, and the value of the stolen goods exceeded one thousand złoty.
The theft took place during the night of June 9 to 10 near one of the supermarkets in Żyrardów. The man took 36 packs of toilet paper. As it turned out, these were not small quantities – in total, we are talking about 1,800 rolls.
He was quickly caught by police
Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the District Police Headquarters in Żyrardów reacted quickly. After receiving the report, they analyzed the surveillance footage and within a short time identified the suspect. The man was detained later that same day on one of the city’s streets – he had the stolen goods with him.
The 42-year-old has already been charged with theft. The offence carries a penalty of up to 5 years’ imprisonment. The court will now decide on his further fate.
