Thick smoke over Wisła drew the attention of residents and tourists today. A hotel fire on Wyzwolenia Street required the rapid intervention of dozens of firefighters and the evacuation of guests.
Hotel Fire in Wisła – What Happened?
In the early afternoon of 18 July, sudden flames broke out in the attic of one of the hotels in Wisła, located on Wyzwolenia Street. Clouds of smoke quickly spread over the southern part of the town, causing alarm among guests and residents.
Eight people – five guests and three members of staff – safely left the building before the first fire crews arrived.
How Did the Firefighting Operation Unfold?
Within just a few minutes, more than 30 fire crews had arrived at the scene. Firefighters immediately began a difficult battle with the fire, which had spread through the empty spaces under the roof of the large hotel – 40 by 30 metres. The operation required the use of thermal imaging cameras to locate hidden seats of fire.
