Wednesday, April 30, 2025, the media heard sad news – Tomasz Jakubiak, a famous cook, presenter and judge of "MasterChef Teenagers", died at 41 years of age after a long fight against rare cancer. His departure touched not only fans of culinary, but also a wide audience for which he was a symbol of passion, warmth and authenticity.
Who was Tomasz Jakubiak?
Tomasz Jakubiak is a character well known to fans of cooking and television. He gained his popularity thanks to the authorial food programs such as "Jakubiak cracks Poland", "Jakubiak during the season" or "Jakubiak locally", aired on Canal+ Kitchen and Food Network. His natural style, sense of humor and authenticity made viewers feel like they were cooking together with a friend. He was also the author of valued culinary books and columnist of "My Cooking" magazine.

In the fall of 2024, Tomasz Jakubiak publicly informed about the fight against rare and malignant cancer, which attacked bones and the digestive system among others. Diagnosis was a shock – the disease was detected in an advanced stage and treatment in Poland was soon insufficient.

With the help of family, friends and thousands of fans, rebounds were launched for expensive treatment abroad. First, Jakubiak went to a clinic in Israel, where he underwent intensive therapy and surgery. Unfortunately, despite the initial improvement, the cancer was extremely aggressive. In April 2025, due to deteriorating health and complications with the lungs, urgent transport by ambulance to a specialist clinic in Athens was necessary. In these difficult moments, the food and television community showed tremendous support by organizing further collections and relief actions.

The family reported the death of Tomasz Jakubiak through his official social media, asking for respect for privacy at this painful time. It was emphasized that he was not only a talented cook, but, above all, a beloved father, husband and man whose heart beat for others.
"His departure left a void that cannot be described in words," wrote the family in a farewell statement.
