Fans of one of the most legendary RPG series can start setting aside money and marking their calendars. The official Gothic game account has just confirmed that the original trilogy in Classic versions is coming to consoles.
The release schedule is as follows:
- Gothic Classic – 28 July 2026
- Gothic II Complete Classic – 29 September 2026
- Gothic III Classic – 24 November 2026
Each title will be available for €29.99.
This is the first official release of the original Gothic games on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S and Series X. The Classic versions are refreshed editions of the 2001, 2002 and 2006 classics – with no changes to the mechanics or story, but optimized for the new consoles and for play with a controller.
For many players, this is a return to the roots of a series that once revolutionized the RPG genre. Gothic I, Gothic II with the Night of the Raven expansion, and Gothic III will arrive on the digital stores PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store at intervals of a few months.
No information has yet been provided about a physical edition or possible graphical enhancements (e.g. higher resolutions or support for 60 fps). For now, it is only known that these will be faithful classics in a new hardware edition.
If you grew up in the times of Khorinis, Jharkendar and Myrtana, write down these dates. The trilogy that shaped a whole generation of gamers will hit TV screens as early as this autumn.
