May brings a real treat for PlayStation Plus players! Sony has prepared three varied titles that will satisfy fans of strategy as well as action and survival lovers. See which games you can add to your library this month!
PlayStation Plus May 2025 – Full List of Free Games
In May 2025, PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers can download three titles, available from 6 May to 2 June. Here is the full list:
- Ark: Survival Ascended (PS5)
- Balatro (PS5, PS4)
- Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun (PS5, PS4)
Each of these games offers a completely different experience – from card-based duels, through survival in a world of dinosaurs, to a retro shooter in the Warhammer style.
Ark: Survival Ascended – A Prehistoric Adventure Reborn
Ark: Survival Ascended is a refreshed version of the cult survival sim, built from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5. Players land on a mysterious island full of dinosaurs and must fight to survive, build bases, gather resources and tame prehistoric beasts. The new edition impresses with improved graphics, dynamic weather and greatly expanded gameplay mechanics. It is a proposition for those who enjoy challenges and exploration, both solo and in multiplayer.
Balatro – The Phenomenon of the Card Roguelike
Balatro is a true hit of recent months and one of the contenders for Game of the Year 2024. It combines poker mechanics with roguelike elements and deck building. Its seemingly simple but extremely engrossing gameplay revolves around creating ever stronger card combinations that let you progress through successive difficulty levels. The game has earned acclaim for its strategic depth and unique atmosphere – ideal for those who like to think several moves ahead.
Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun – A Return to the FPS Roots
For fans of dynamic action, Sony has prepared Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun. It is a first-person shooter styled after the classics of the 1990s, set in the dark Warhammer universe. You step into the role of a Space Marine and face hordes of Chaos, using a rich arsenal of weapons. The pixel-art graphics and fast pace make this game a true tribute to the old shooters, but with a modern polish.
