playstation-plus/" title="Playstation Plus">PlayStation Plus For July 2026 brings a surprise that many players have been waiting for for for years. As part of the monthly games, one of the loudest productions of recent years appeared from a huge series of shootings.
This is the first time in a very long time that Sony has posted such a large title from this franchise to PS Plus – since Microsoft's acquisition of Activision fans have feared that the era of free CoD in Sony's service was over. Earlier, the PS Plus featured among others. Call of Duty: WWII and Black Ops Cold WarBut since then, there's been a big break for a few years.
What exactly do we get?
In July, three games will be available in PS Plus Essential (and higher tiers):
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (cross-Gen version) – the latest installment that offers a new feature campaign, upgraded classic multiplayer maps and open-world PvE Zombies mode.
- For the King II – continuation of the popular corner of the ELPG with elements of cooperation.
- CrossCode – valued retro 2D action-RPG with fast fighting and puzzle elements.
All titles can be downloaded free of charge from 7 July to 3 August 2026.

Why is it such a big deal?
Modern Warfare III This is one of the most widely purchased titles in the history of the series in recent years. For many players it is a return to the roots of the series and one of the better parts of the last generation. The fact that Sony throws it into PS Plus is a really big surprise – especially after Microsoft takes over Activision.
Players immediately began to speculate whether it was a one-time gesture, or maybe Sony and Microsoft agreed on further collaboration on the CoD series on PlayStation.
