According to industry reports, review copies of GTA 6 will reach outlets before release, so the first reviews could appear before November 19.
What we know about the reviews
As reported by Insider Gaming, cited by GRYOnline.pl, classic reviews will be published before the release of Grand Theft Auto VI. The outlet claims it has learned of a preliminary embargo date but has not revealed it, as it may still change.
On Thursday, October 15, GRYOnline.pl added that insider NateTheHate said outlets would receive review copies before the end of October. According to the site, this would mean the first reviews could start appearing a few to a dozen or so days before release. This is the outlet’s estimate, not a statement from the publisher.
Where earlier doubts came from
In recent months, speculation circulated that Rockstar, fearing leaks, would either skip reviews or invite journalists to play under controlled conditions. Neither scenario has been officially confirmed. The game has long been a target of leaks, which is also worth noting.
The release, which we already wrote about in our article on Rockstar keeping the release date, is still scheduled for Thursday, November 19, 2026. The game will be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. A PC version may follow in the first quarter of 2027, though this is unconfirmed reporting.
What it means for players
If the reports are confirmed, players planning to buy on release day will have time to read reviews before deciding whether to spend their money. There are 35 days until release.
