As of 19 September 2025 the fees for mandatory technical inspections of vehicles in Poland will increase. Drivers will pay a lot more to test their cars, resulting from the increasing cost of running a vehicle control station.
Increase in prices of passenger car reviews
The most noticeable will be a change in the price for a car review. So far it was PLN 98 and has not changed in 21 years. Now the fee will increase to PLN 149, which means as much as PLN 51 more. This is the first major increase in over two decades. The increases also included other types of vehicles, e.g. motorcycles or LPG cars, where proportional price changes will occur.
Comparison of prices of technical inspections of vehicles before and after 19 September 2025
| Vehicle type | Previous price (PLN) | New price (PLN) | Difference (PLN) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Passenger vehicle | 98 | 149 | +51 |
| Motorcycle | 51 | 77 | +26 |
| Truck up to 3,5 t | 122 | 185 | +63 |
| Bus | 148 | 224 | +76 |
| Vehicle with LPG installation | 123 | 185 | +62 |
The increases are due to the increasing costs of running diagnostic stations and new technical requirements. Although this is a significant increase, prices in Poland are still among the lowest in Europe, and additional measures are intended to improve the quality of services and road safety.
