A new era in Polish politics. On 6 August, Karol Nawrocki solemnly took the oath before the National Assembly and officially assumed the office of President of the Republic of Poland.
The swearing-in ceremony – what did it look like?
The National Assembly convened punctually at 10:00 in the plenary hall of the Sejm. Karol Nawrocki arrived together with his wife Marta, and seated in the hall were former presidents, Prime Minister Donald Tusk, deputies, senators and invited guests. Among those present were representatives of the diplomatic corps, local government authorities and the clergy. The proceedings began with the singing of the national anthem and the traditional address by Marshal of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia.
