What exactly happened?
According to the prosecutor’s findings, the 27-year-old, in a fit of rage, threw the infant onto the floor. The baby suffered serious injuries. The child’s mother reacted quickly by calling an ambulance, which got the boy to hospital. There he underwent surgery and remains in a medically induced coma. Doctors are fighting for his life and health.

Police and prosecutors’ actions
Police quickly detained both parents. The mother was questioned as a witness and released. The father was charged with attempted murder combined with causing serious bodily harm. The District Court in Augustów (Sąd Rejonowy) ordered that the man be held in temporary custody for three months.
He faces a penalty of 10 to 30 years in prison, and in the most severe case, life imprisonment.
