Police officers from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Kraków settled another man who threatened a group of popular influencers. It is a 31-year-old Ukrainian citizen who pulled a knife on 27 March at Grodzka Street in the city centre and threatened members of the team of youtuber Szymon "Książuło" Nyczke. The man was detained on March 30th evening, heard the charges, threatened to jail for up to 5 years, and the police sent a request to the Border Guard for a decision requiring him to return to the country.
The incident took place during recordings for one of the episodes of the Książulo channel, in which the team reported the opening of the Easter Fair. The agressor approached a co-worker of youtuber known as Bobbie (wearing a distinctive mask) and demanded that this one remove the face cover. When he met with a refusal, the situation became acute – a man pulled a knife and began directing threats towards the team members. The entire event was recorded on a recording that later appeared online. Accidental female intervention prevented further escalation.
Police officers from the Police Station I in Krakow, in cooperation with officers from the Provincial Headquarters, analysed the film material, selected the perpetrator and determined his address in the Kazimierz area. On March 30, the uniforms detained a 31-year-old. It turned out that he had another misdemeanor in his account – the day after the knife incident (March 28) damaged a parked car in the city center, causing losses exceeding PLN 10 000.
For criminal threats and damage to property, a man is facing imprisonment for up to five years. The D.A. applied police supervision to him. Additionally, the police imposed fines on him for a total amount of PLN 9,000 for having a dangerous object in a public place with the intention of using it to commit a crime.
"The priority of Kraków Police is to ensure the safety of residents and tourists who visit our city. There is no permission for the behaviour of the detained men" - stressed the officers in the communication.
This is the second similar case in a short time. A few days earlier, the police stopped a 19-year-old who sprayed pepper spray on the Main Market Square towards another group of influencers. Both cases show a strong reaction of the service to aggression towards those recording material in public space.
The 31-year-old case goes to court now. The further fate of the man, including possible deportation, will be decided by the Border Guard and the prosecution.
