are so far landing on schedule or with minimal delays. However, the lack of an official statement from the airport suggests the situation may worsen, especially if the fog persists through the night. In recent days, similar weather conditions caused numerous diversions and cancellations, including flights to Katowice, Ostrava and Budapest.
Cause: Autumn Fog at Full Strength
Fog is a frequent problem in the Kraków area in autumn and winter, particularly around Balice, where the terrain favours the formation of dense cloud. Tonight visibility dropped below the safe limits for landings, forcing controllers to decide on diversions. Kraków Airport is contending with dense fog which, on the evening of 29 November 2025, caused further disruptions to air traffic – following the earlier diversion of LOT flight LO 338 from Paris Orly to Warsaw, the airport issued an updated statement about additional changes. As of 23:15, flight operations are continuing, but due to deteriorating weather conditions, several Ryanair flights have been diverted: to Katowice were flights FR 4204 from Glasgow, FR 5143 from Paphos, FR 6311 from Oslo-Torp and FR 2434 from London Stansted, while to Rzeszów-Jasionka went FR 2588 from Malaga and FR 8706 from Lisbon. Passengers should monitor flight statuses on an ongoing basis via the Kraków Airport app or website, contacting airlines directly, as decisions on changes rest with the carriers; the airport stresses that its staff are available, and the fog may cause further delays or cancellations in the coming hours.
