Kraków Airport: Fog paralyzes airport work

Kraków, November 15, 2025 – The dense fog and deteriorating weather conditions caused chaos at Kraków-Balice Airport. A number of Ryanair flights have been diverted to nearby ports and passengers must expect delays and changes in plans. The airport calls for monitoring the status of cruises – this is what happens.

Cause: Autumn Intensity Weather

November in Kraków is a period of frequent fogs and precipitation, which confirms the weather forecast for today: the temperature during the day reached about 10°C, at night it will fall to 5°C, with a light wind of up to 8 km/h and a large cloud. Meteorological experts warn against possible fog and rain, which could make the situation worse in the coming hours. Similar fog problems had already paralyzed the airport, e.g. in October, when several flights had to land in other cities.

According to airport messages, the weather conditions are deteriorating, which may lead to further disturbances. "We ask for ongoing monitoring of the status of the cruise with the right airline," says the official statement.

Do what? Advice for Passengers

If you plan to travel from or to Krakow, do not ignore warnings:

  • Check flight status: Use Kraków Airport app (on iOS / Android) or website www.krakowairport.pl.
  • Contact with the carrierRyanair and other operators provide the most up-to-date information directly to passengers.
  • Prepare for Delays: The airport ensures that staff are available, but decisions depend on airlines.
  • Alternatives: If redirected, expect transport by bus – this is a standard procedure in such situations.

Kraków Airport recalls: "Thank you for understanding and we apologize for the inconvenience!" In the English version of the Communication: "ATTENTION PASSENGERS! DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS, PLEASE CHECK THE STATUS OF YOU FLIGHT WITH CARRIER."

Background: Common Problem in the Balic Islands

This is not the first time the weather has complicated operations at Kraków Airport. In recent months, the airport has faced similar incidents, including a dense fog in January, which cancelled flights to Warsaw and Amsterdam. In addition, yesterday's A4 accident near Bali may have affected the commute. The airport, serving more than 11 million passengers a year, plans to invest in a new runway, which could reduce such problems in the future.

The situation is dynamic – follow updates on the airport website or on social media. If you had similar experience, share in the comment!
