The District Prosecutor's Office in Grójec on 25 July 2025 launched an investigation into a case carried out on 24 July 2025 in Lasopol, the municipality of Chynów, the Grójecki district, the killing of a man by tasking him with hitting the back of the head with a flammable substance and arson, i.e. an offence with Article 148 §1 kk.
According to the previous findings, the event occurred late on the evening of July 25, 2025 on a little frequented road. Around 10:00 p.m. on a bicycle, a witness spotted a high fire. Turns out there was a man's body lying in flames. A field car was parked nearby, which unexpectedly drifted away without the passing lights on. Called to the scene, emergency services failed to save a man's life. On the basis of registration numbers, police officers identified the vehicle and its owner. They went to the village of Przypki, the municipality of Tarczyn, the district of Piaseczyński, to the buildings of the local rectory, where they stopped Mirosław M., parish priest.

On the day of the occurrence, under the supervision of the prosecutor, an examination of the body of a man was carried out and an examination of the location of their disclosure. In the expert's opinion, this resulted in life-threatening burns covering 80 % of body surface area. He also had head injuries from a heavy tool with a sharpened edge, which could also have contributed to death. In connection with the event, officers of the Police District Comedy in Grójec and the Provincial Police Headquarters in Radom conducted search and detailed examination of the rectory rooms. For further tests, the vehicle stopped.

Sisters and Brothers,
I have no words of comfort for you today, much less explanation or explanation. I am saddened and devastated by the news that one of my priests brutally murdered a man – a poor and homeless. I have no answer to any question starting with the word "why?"
All the priests of the Archdiocese of Warsaw, I ask that they undertake personal penance and expiation prayer today. Let us do this together next Sunday – after every Holy Mass throughout the Archdiocese. The blood of the murdered brother calls to God. We pray for God's forgiveness, and beg for the forgiveness of men. I beg for it myself.
Let us also pray for the late Mr. Anatol and his loved ones.
The Archdiocese of Warsaw will cooperate fully with law enforcement to explain all the circumstances of this crime. All the necessary canonical procedures will also be undertaken.
