The Ministry of National Defence has decided to send a special military aircraft with a Polish medical team to China to bring 24-year-old Klaudia Uciechowska from Wałbrzych back to Poland.
Klaudia has been in a hospital in Beijing for over a month. The young woman is in serious condition – she is in a drug-induced coma after severe complications related to ovarian teratomas. Her condition is very grave and requires immediate transport to Poland.
The decision to send the military aircraft was made personally by the Minister of National Defence, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. On board the aircraft will be a qualified medical team, prepared for the long-distance transport of a critically ill patient.
Klaudia’s mother, speaking to the media, does not hide her enormous stress. “I am afraid of this flight. It will be a very long and risky journey, but I know that in Poland Klaudia will have the best chances,” she said.
The medical transport is expected to depart within the next few hours. After landing, Klaudia will be taken to one of Poland’s specialist hospitals.
