Warsaw, 3 June 2026 – After several days of intensive preparations, a special military plane with a Polish medical team on board took off from Beijing, carrying 24-year-old Klaudia Uciechowska from Wałbrzych and her mother.
As Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz personally announced:
“A special plane has taken off from Beijing for Poland, with Ms. Klaudia on board together with her mother and doctors! In a dozen or so hours she will be in our country.”
Klaudia has been in serious condition for over a month in one of the hospitals in Beijing. The young woman, who went to China to pursue a master’s degree in sinology, was admitted to the intensive care unit after serious health complications, including, among others, an ovarian teratoma. For weeks she has been in a drug-induced coma.
The decision to send a government medical aircraft followed a personal intervention by the head of the MON. On board is a specialized team of doctors and paramedics prepared to transport a critically ill patient over a long distance.
Klaudia’s mother had earlier voiced concerns about such a risky flight, but stressed that in Poland her daughter would have far better chances of effective treatment.
After landing in Poland, Klaudia will be immediately transferred to one of the specialist hospitals, where her treatment will continue.
