The scale of the fire in Tooths – what happened?
Thursday, July 3rd, around 7:30 p.m., a fire broke out in the attic of the block at 62 Insurgency Street in Ząbki, just under Warsaw. The fire spread very quickly to the roof and further floors, covering as many as three buildings on the Copernicus estate. Flames and clouds of black smoke were visible from afar, and dramatic recordings and photos revolved social media.
Rescue action – coordinated actions of services
Many fire brigades appeared immediately. At the climax of the fire, 150 firefighters of 26 PSP and OS units supported by 6 mechanical ladders. Units from neighboring districts were taken to the action and the Chief Chief of State Fire Service arrived.. Police and paramedics were also involved. The action was hampered by dense buildings, strong wind and parked nearby cars that blocked the arrival of other units.
Evacuation of residents
The threat was so serious that several hundred people were evacuated, both from burning blocks and from neighboring buildings.. Residents found temporary shelter at Primary School 3 in Ząbki.
Fortunately, according to the latest information, There are no reports of injured persons. However, material losses are serious – a large part of roofs, attics and apartments have been burned down. The fire even penetrated the cellars, and fragments of the roofs fell to the ground, exacerbating the threat.
The authorities call on residents to stay in their homes and close their windows, as the concentration of dust in the air has been exceeded three times.
