Tragic events took place on Thursday evening on the settlement at the Insurgency Street in Ząbki. The fire covered the roof of a large residential block, spreading rapidly to subsequent floors and basements. Even 300 firefighters, supported by 45 fire trucks, 5 tanks and 8 lifts and ladders participated in the climax of the fight against the fire.. The action lasted all night and was extremely difficult – the fire developed very dynamically, and rescuers had to operate from outside because there was no possibility of entering the patio of the building.
Firefighters ran fireblowers, searched the premises and stripped the roof's structural elements to eliminate hidden fire sources.. The site was secured and the operations were carried out under the strict supervision of the commander.
