Message of Donald Tusk: Poland on the threshold of a new power – strong voice of the Prime Minister on national holidays

Prime Minister Donald Tusk gave a message to the nation, highlighting the historic moment for Poland. In his speech he pointed to the growing strength of the state, the importance of work and ambitious plans for the future, which are intended to strengthen Poland's position in Europe and in the world.

New opening – the historical context of the message

Donald Tusk's message came for a special time – on 1 May it is not only Labor Day but also the 21st anniversary of Poland's accession to the European Union. The Prime Minister also referred to the millennium of the coronation of Bolesław Chrobry, recalling the long and rich history of the Polish state.

Tusk emphasized that Poland is a "thousand-year-old country with which everyone has to reckon" and that national holidays and white-red flags are to be a symbol of the emerging Polish power.

Poland – the strength of citizens and the economy

Working as the foundation of the state

The Prime Minister stressed that the strength of the state is coming from the success of its citizens. He stressed the role of work, which is not only a source of prosperity, but also a reason for the pride and gratitude of the whole community. "Good work is the greatest treasure to be paid not only for but also for the highest respect," said Tusk

Growth rate economy

In his speech the Prime Minister presented an ambitious economic vision, called "National Piastowska Doctrine". Its pillars are:

  • Building the strongest economy in the region
  • Favouring Polish companies in public projects
  • Exploring Poland's potential as a hub for rebuilding Ukraine after the war
  • Protection of national interests in international economic relations

Tusk did not hide that meeting these goals requires courage, strength and skills, but stressed that "Polish potential is undeniable, and we know how to run it".

Security and international position

The strongest army in centuries

In the face of uncertainty and conflicts beyond the eastern border, the Prime Minister announced further expansion of the Polish army. "We are creating an army which Poland has not had in centuries – a super strong and modern army to win," said Tusk.

Poland – key voice in Europe

The Prime Minister pointed out that Poland's voice in Europe "has not sounded so strong since time immemorial". Poland is respected and listened to today, and without its participation it is impossible to make any significant decisions on the continent.

Challenges and Perspectives – Looking to the Future

Tusk also referred to difficult times in which Poles came to live. He pointed to the return of uncertainty, brutality and selfishness to world politics and the importance of attachment to values and responsibility for the community.

Among positive accents the Prime Minister also mentioned the successes of Poles, such as the upcoming mission of Sławomiz Uznański-Wiśniewski – the first Polish man in space in half a century.

Poland is ready for new challenges

Donald Tusk's message was not only a summary of achievements to date, but above all an announcement of courageous actions for the future. The Prime Minister called for unity and pride in national successes, stressing that "Poland is a great dream", which today becomes a reality thanks to the joint effort of citizens.
