The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate issued an urgent public warning regarding glasses available for sale. The product was characterised by migration of lead and cadmium, toxic substances that should not come into contact with food and beverages.
This warning applies glasses marketed by a Polish distributor KIK Textil Sp. z o.o. (Wrocław). Country of origin of the product China.
Which parties are dangerous?
The warning shall concern glasses of the following batch markings:
- 251216-3 12212075631003000100
- P278285 — 1221207/003
If you have at home glasses with these numbers – Do not use them to drink or to contact food.

Why is it dangerous?
Lead and cadmium are heavy metals that can accumulate in the human body. Long-term exposure to these substances may lead to serious health problems, especially in the children, pregnant women and the elderly. The GIS therefore made a clear recommendation: do not use these glasses for drinking drinks or meals.
What happened?
The product was withdrawn from sales with caution. Further findings and studies are ongoing. The authorities of the State Sanitary Inspection are monitoring the withdrawal process.
What if you have glasses like that?
- Don't use them. to drink coffee, tea, juices or other beverages.
- Don't serve them to children.
- You can throw them away or return them to the collection point of hazardous waste (although in practice most people simply throw them into ordinary garbage because they have no obligation to return).
