On Tuesday, 21 July 2026, between 7:00 and 19:00, air-raid sirens will sound across Poland. This nationwide exercise is codenamed ALARM-26.
The aim of the drill is to test the systems used to warn and alert the population and the military about air threats. Officials stress that there is no real threat – this is purely a test of system readiness.
What signals will we hear?
During the exercise, two types of signals will be broadcast:
- a three-minute continuous, modulated tone – signals the announcement of an alarm,
- a three-minute continuous, steady tone – signals the cancellation of the alarm.
The backup date for the exercise is 22 July 2026.
RCB Alert
An ALERT RCB message informing about the exercise has been sent to residents across the country.
Appeal from the emergency services
The fire service and other emergency services appeal to residents to remain calm. Sirens may sound at different times depending on the region, but there is no need to panic or call emergency numbers because of them.
