On Sunday, 5 April, shortly after 7 p.m. in Mysłowice, an unusual but heartwarming police intervention took place on Towarowa Street. Three white Samoyed dogs escaped from a property and ran unsupervised along the roadway, posing a threat both to themselves and to drivers.
A concerned resident immediately reported the matter to the duty officer at the Municipal Police Headquarters in Mysłowice. A patrol arrived at the scene and within a few minutes secured the animals so they would not run back onto the busy street. The officers decided to take the dogs to the police station, where they could wait safely for their owner.
The officers acted without delay. Just a few dozen minutes later, they found a post on one of the social media platforms about three missing Samoyeds. They immediately contacted the owner. Before 8 p.m., the happy dogs were back home.
Police officers from Mysłowice stress that their quick response prevented a potential accident and ensured the safety of both the animals and local residents. They also remind pet owners of their obligations: under Article 77 of the Petty Offences Code (Kodeks wykroczeń), inadequate securing of a dog may result in a fine of up to 1,000 zloty, restriction of liberty, or a reprimand. If an animal poses a danger to human life or health, the penalty is more severe.
Thanks to the commitment of the officers, everything ended well. The three white Samoyeds are now safe at home, and their owner will surely pay closer attention to securing the property’s fence.
