Changes in 800+ from 1 June 2026. Some parents only get 400 PLN per month

As of 1 June 2026, a new programme period began Family 800+which will last until May 31, 2027. Most parents will still receive a full 800 PLN per child, but many people will encounter an unpleasant surprise.

Key changes:

1. Replacement care = PLN 400 instead of PLN 800 If the court has decided to take alternate care of the child (the child spends a comparable amount of time with both parents), the benefit is shared in half. In practice this means that both mother and father will receive 400 PLN per month For the baby.

2. New period of benefits – a request must be submitted The benefit shall not be renewed automatically. In order to receive money from June, the application had to be submitted by 30 April 2026 at the latest. Persons who have done so later may only have a break in payments or benefits from the month of application.

3. Stricter rules for foreigners As of June 1, 2026, new foreigners from outside the EU/EFTA must demonstrate professional activity in Poland to receive 800+. This applies to persons legally residing in the country who have access to the labour market.

What about valorization?

In 2026, the government did not decide to raise the benefit. Amount remains at 800 zł a month for a baby.

ZUS recalls that applications for 800+ for a new period can only be submitted electronically – via PUE ZUS, mZUS application or electronic banking.

Parents who have alternate custody or are in the process of court proceedings for custody should particularly carefully check the amount they will receive in June.
