The creepy clown is going back to Derry. When's the premiere? [CHUCKLING]

Here comes the serial prequel of Stephen King's famous screening novel! "This: Welcome to Derry" ( "Welcome to Derry") is the latest offer of horror from HBO Max, and recently fans of the universe can see the official trailer of this anticipated production.

What's ahead?

The show's action takes place in the fictional town of Derry, Maine in 1962, which is 27 years before events known from the 2017 film "To" and "To: Chapter 2" with 2019, which are screens of King's best-selling novel. That's when Pennywise, the spooky clown once again wakes up from his hibernation to sow terror among the people of Derry.

The series is intended to deepen the genesis of the evil lurking in the town and show tragic events that forever marked the local community. The center of history will be an African American family that moves to Derry and faces local hostility and mysterious disappearances of children. The themes of the series are loosely inspired by excerpts from King's novel about Derry's dramatic past, including the Black Spot fire, the consequences of which also echo in other works of the master of horror.

Cast and release date of the series

In the star cast we will see, among others, Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe and Rudy Mancuso. Back to his iconic role as Pennywise Bill Skrasgård. Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti, the creator of the two previous film adaptations "To", are responsible for the show.

The series "To: Welcome to Derry" consists of nine episodes and will debut on HBO Max in autumn 2025 (planned Prime Minister in October).

The authors announce that there will be numerous references to the novels and previous screenings, as well as quite new stories of the people of Derry. We will witness how evil exploits human fears and weaknesses, not only supernatural ones, but also purely human.
