New HBO „Harry Potter” series poster shows the Hogwarts castle

On Thursday, October 29, the first poster for the HBO series “Harry Potter” appeared, featuring Harry and the Hogwarts castle. The premiere of the adaptation of “The Philosopher’s Stone” is scheduled for December 25.

The poster was published by the official @harrypotter account on Instagram. As Filmweb describes, it shows the title hero, the slogan “The Boy Who Lived” and the castle seen from the outside. The fan account Wizarding World Direct wrote that the castle is officially meant to differ from the one in the films. We have not confirmed this information in an HBO statement.

When is the premiere

The “Harry Potter” series will air on HBO and HBO Max at Christmas, that is on Friday, December 25. HBO announced the date on March 24–25 together with the first trailer, as reported by, among others, the American network NBC in its Today service. The first season is an adaptation of “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”.

The premiere is less than two months away. The portal has already written about the first trailer and the casting of Snape. Filmweb notes that the cast of Harry’s parents was also announced in recent days.

Cast and costs

Harry is played by Dominic McLaughlin, Hermione by Arabella Stanton, and Ron by Alastair Stout. Dumbledore is played by John Lithgow, McGonagall by Janet McTeer, Snape by Paapa Essiedu, and Hagrid by Nick Frost. Harry’s parents will be played by Jasper Talbot and Hannah Chinn, according to Filmweb.

The production is costly. As we reported, documents revealed by “The Times” show that by the end of 2025 the series had consumed £147.4 million.

What it means for viewers in Poland

The series will be available on HBO Max on the day of its worldwide premiere, December 25. As of publication, no time or number of episodes for the first season in the Polish offering has been given. It is also unknown whether it will debut in full or episode by episode.
