On Sunday at La Romana International Airport in the Dominican Republic a private business plane Gulfstream crashed. Both crew members – pilot and second pilot – suffered death on the spot.
According to preliminary information, the aircraft reported a malfunction of one of the engines shortly after launch. The crew immediately alerted the flight control tower of the loss of power and demanded an immediate return to the airport.
There was a tragedy during an emergency landing. The machine crashed on the airport plate. Emergency services, fire department and airport authorities immediately appeared.
Victims are two American pilots.
Only two crew members were on board, both of whom were citizens of the United States. Their identities have already been established, but they are not officially published for formal reasons.

Investigation ongoing
The Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC) and the Air Accident Investigation Commission launched an investigation. At this stage, neither the cause of the engine failure nor the details of exactly what went wrong during the landing.
The private Gulfstream aircraft are among the most advanced business machines in the world and are usually operated by experienced pilots. The fact that such a tragedy occurred during a routine return after a single engine failure raises many questions.
Rescue services were working very quickly, but the crew failed to save them.
