In today's world, where the boundary between fiction and reality is becoming increasingly blurred, there are events that look like a Hollywood action movie or... a popular video game. Such an example is the recent robbery of a jewelry store in the shopping centre in Bratislava, Slovakia. The surveillance footage he's been running Internet, including platform X (formerly Twitter), shows a group of masked thieves who robbed the store in a flash, smashing the cabinets and escaping with valuable jewelry. But what makes this robbery so special? Its striking resemblance to the attack mission in the GTA Online game, where players plan and perform complex robberies.
Event description
The incident occurred in one of the shopping malls in Bratislava. According to a report from the Slovak police, a group of seven people, dressed in white suits resembling fencing or painting, entered a jewelry store. Surveillance footage, published on x (formerly Twitter), shows how thieves enter, armed with ax and hammers. In just a few seconds they break glass cabinets, spreading glass fragments across the floor. Each one works with precision: some break up sites, others collect jewelry into bags. Coordination is impressive – there is no chaos, only quick, planned movements. After collecting the loot, the group flees, leaving behind an empty store and shocked witnesses.
The post on X reads: "The robbery of the store in Bratislava – just like in the action film! Thiefs dressed for fencing went into the mall and robbed a jewelry store. Similar to a perfectly planned scene — quick entry, smash the display case and escape with jewelry." The video takes about 25 seconds and is marked with the logo of the Slovak police ("POLICIA – BRATISLAVSKY COUNTRY"), which confirms the authenticity of the material. Comments under the post range from jokes about the "Ukrainian crew on the renaissance" to speculation that the suits are coaters, which could facilitate police investigation by checking sales in stores. One of the users even directly compared this to "the GTA Online casino robbery".
It is worth mentioning that Slovak Police He's conducting an intense investigation. The raid took place in November 2025, and losses were estimated at tens of thousands of euros. The thieves did not use firearms, suggesting that they wanted to avoid escalation of violence, focusing on speed and surprise. This is not the first such incident in the region – similar robberies have occurred in the past, but this one is distinguished by the professionalism of performance.
Similarities to GTA Online Robbery
Now let's get to the most interesting aspect: why is this real robbery like a heist mission at GTA Online? Rockstar Games, a sequel to GTA V, is famous for its extended multiplayer mode, where players can plan and conduct complex robberies, called "attacks". One of the most iconic is "The Jewel Store Job" with GTA V, which online evolved into similar missions such as a casino robbery.
First of all, speed and coordination. In GTA Online, robberies require a team – players share roles: hacker, driver, shooter. The Bratislava robbery shows similar cooperation: thieves act like a team, everyone knows what to do. Breaking the cabinet reminds you of moments when players in the game use tools to destroy sites and collect loot. In the "The Jewel Store Job" (vocal version – "Loud Approach") the characters enter with momentum, break glass and plunder jewelry under time pressure before they arrive Police.
Secondly, clothes and masks.
Third, metoda ataku. Rozbijanie gablot siekierami to klasyka z GTA.
