Phone in hand, speed close to 400 km/h – this is the shocking film from the streets of Warsaw. Police have already reacted and stopped the driver and passenger BMW.
Bravura on Warsaw Roads
Warsaw has been facing the problem of irresponsible drivers who treat the city as their own racetrack. This time, the case gained special publicity thanks to a recording that went public and reached the police.
Wednesday, June 25th, the capital officials stopped two men– Polish citizens aged 38 and 33. They also secured the BMW vehicle and equipment for recording and publishing dangerous road events.
The course of the incident and how did the arrest occur?
It all started with a video posted on Instagram by a user hiding under the nickname "Mr. Badass". The recording documents the BMW M6 G-Power driving at a speed of about 390 km/h on the S79 route – a wide road along Chopin Airport in Warsaw. The driver held the phone, the other steering wheel with one hand, demonstrating a complete lack of responsibility towards other participants in the movement. The recording quickly hit the police box "Stop of road aggression", conducted by the Police Headquarters. This tool allows residents to report dangerous behaviour on the road, such as bravado, driving or not giving priority. The police responded quickly to the arrest and the vehicle was secured.
Effects of irresponsible driving: not only parking tickets
Such behaviour has serious consequences. Crossing the speed by several dozen kilometres in the city threatens with high fines, penalty points, and even the loss of a driving licence. In the case of extreme bravado, such as S79, the case may go to court and drivers may face harsh sentences.
Police emphasize that there is no social or legal consent to such behaviour. Each traffic participant has the right to drive safely, and aggression and bravado on the road is a real threat to life and health.
How to react to dangerous behavior in the road?
If you witness dangerous driving or road aggression, it is worth:
Stay calm. And don't get into confrontation.
Collect as much information as possible(registration number, place, time, situation description).
Make a recording or photo– if possible and safe.
Send a report to the police box"Stop road aggression".
How does the box "Stop road aggression" work?
The box "Stop of road aggression" is an initiative of the Police Headquarters, which allows everyone to report aggressive and dangerous behaviour on Warsaw's roads. You can send:
Description(date, time, place)
Vehicle data(registration number, model, colour)
Video or photo materials
Reporting data(name, surname, contact)
Reports help police respond quickly to the most dangerous cases and eliminate road pirates who threaten the safety of all traffic participants.
