The Opole Police published a series of photos and two videos from the arrest and the entire search operation for 17-year-old Łukasz G.

In the videos and photos, the police show and describe:
- the scale of the manhunt (hours-long searching of forests and areas in Krapkowice County)
- the moment the 17-year-old was arrested in thickets by the Osobłoga river, approx. 45 km from Kadłub
- the seizure of three tools (including an axe) that may have been used in the crime
- emphasis that the teenager was not armed and did not resist

On 26 February 2026, in the village of Kadłub in Strzelce County in the Opole Region, 17-year-old Łukasz G. committed a brutal double murder. Armed with an axe, he killed his 38-year-old stepfather and his 87-year-old great-grandmother, with whom he lived under one roof, inflicting numerous chopping and cutting wounds.
After the crime, the teenager recorded the course of events and posted his final statement on YouTube, in which he confessed to the crime and said, among other things, that „in my opinion, murder is part of life”, explaining the act by workplace mobbing and family tensions.
After the attack he fled the house and was arrested after a manhunt of several hours in the thickets by the Osobłoga river, about 45 kilometres from the scene of the tragedy.
The Opole Police are conducting the investigation under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office, while appealing to the media and internet users to show respect for the victims and not to share graphic footage from the scene.
