No Kevin on Christmas Eve? Not in Poland! Polsat has been showing the festive comedy „Home Alone” for a quarter of a century, and in 2025 this cult film will not be missing either.
Home Alone – Polsat’s Christmas Classic
„Home Alone” has been part of Polish Christmas tradition for 25 years. The American production from 1990, directed by Chris Columbus, won the sympathy of Polish viewers and became an indispensable part of Christmas Eve evenings. It was Polsat that made the film a permanent fixture in Polish homes, broadcasting it every year since 2000.
Previously, the broadcasting rights belonged to other stations, such as TVP1 and TVN, but it is Polsat that is most strongly associated with Kevin. Viewers’ attachment to the tradition is so strong that in 2010, when the station wanted to withdraw the film, it sparked a massive protest online. After a wave of opposition, Polsat changed its decision and since then Kevin has never disappeared from the schedule.
Broadcast of „Home Alone” in 2025 – What, When and Where?
Polsat’s press office confirmed that „Home Alone” will appear on screens on Christmas Eve, 24 December 2025. Viewers will traditionally be able to watch the adventures of the resourceful boy defending his home from clumsy burglars. Details about the broadcast time usually appear closer to the holidays, but from experience it is known that the film starts in the evening, around 8:00 p.m.
Then, in the new year, on 1 January 2026, Polsat will show the sequel – „Home Alone 2: Lost in New York”. This part follows Kevin’s further adventures, as he accidentally spends the holidays in a big city, once again facing dangerous robbers.
