Police officers from the Świdnik Municipal Police Station detained a 19-year-old Ukrainian citizen in the act, who took a million zlotys as part of an investment fraud from a 76-year-old resident of the Świdnicki County.
The incident occurred on April 9, 2026. The woman appeared twice in the arranged places in the county. The first time she took over PLN 300 thousand, and a few days later – PLN 700 thousand. It was during the second transaction that the criminals stopped her moments after receiving the cash and secured the entire amount transferred.
Senior fell victim to classic "investment" fraud. Two years ago, he found an attractive announcement on the social network. He was contacted by a woman claiming to be an investment manager. Under her direction, the 76-year-old "invested" on Polish, Turkish and Argentine markets. He was handing over the money personally in the established places after the password was given.
A 19-year-old girl was brought to the District Attorney's Office in Świdnik, where she heard a charge of fraud over possession of considerable value. She's facing imprisonment for up to 10 years. At the request of the prosecutor, the District Court of Świdnik applied to her temporary arrest for a period of three months.
The investigation is developmental. The police and the D.A. determine everyone involved. Officers call on residents to be particularly careful when investing online and dealing with strangers offering quick profits.
