Background: attack at the Main Market Square

The attack took place on Saturday, when a man drove a car onto the Main Market Square and shot at random people; we reported on this in our article on the arrest of the shooter from the car on the Market Square. The perpetrator has been detained.

The names of the officers who stopped the attacker were given by Prime Minister Donald Tusk. We wrote about this in the article Tusk Gives Names of Kraków Police Officers: “They Are True Heroes”. One of the officers is fighting for his life, and the other is wounded.
