The Government Security Center issued an alert for residents of several provinces. The night of Monday to Tuesday and Tuesday 9 June 2026 are forecasted to be violent storms with heavy rainfall, wind surges, and locally also hail.

Which provinces are at risk?
The RCB alert includes:
- Mazovia
- Małopolskie
- subcarpathian
- opolskie
- and part of the Silesian Voivodeship (15 counties: Będziński, Bielsko-Biała, bierunsko-lędziński, Cieszynski, Dąbrowa Górnicza, Jastrzębie-Zdrój, Jaworzno, Katowice, Mysłowice, pszczyński, Sosnowiec, Tychy, Zawierjski and Żywiec)
What do meteorologists predict?
In vulnerable regions are expected storms with heavy rain (up to 30 to 40 mm) and Windstorms up to 70–90 km/h. Locally, hail could fall. The greatest risk occurs in the afternoon and evening on Tuesday.
RCB recommendations – what to do?
The Government Security Centre calls on residents at risk to exercise special care:
- Remove from windowsills, balconies and yard all items that can be taken by the wind.
- If your car is under trees, move it to safety.
- Close the windows and doors.
- If possible, stay home.
- Do not stop under trees or in open spaces.
- Prepare flashlights and battery supply (the risk of power outages).
- Take special care while driving – watch out for broken branches and trees.
The alert is valid until further notice. The service calls to keep track of messages and not underestimate threats.
