A modern electric car factory is planned in Jaworzno. By 2035, it is set to create nearly 4,000 jobs directly at the plant, and as many as 20,000 positions across the entire supply chain. It is one of the largest industrial investments in the region in years.
Cyprian Gronkiewicz, president of EMP, said construction of the factory is planned to begin in spring 2027, provided a joint venture agreement with a strategic partner is signed this autumn. The first electric cars are to roll off the production line at the end of 2029.
Large Scale of the Investment
The new factory is expected to be one of the key elements in the development of electromobility in Poland. The investment is meant not only to create thousands of jobs, but also to attract component and subassembly suppliers to the region, giving an additional boost to the local economy.
Jaworzno, located in the Silesian Voivodeship, has for years been seeking to attract modern industrial investments. The construction of an electric car factory fits into the region’s transformation after the era of coal.
What Comes Next?
The decision to start construction will depend on signing the joint venture agreement with the strategic partner. If everything goes according to plan, construction will begin in just under three years in Jaworzno, and the first electric cars will leave the factory at the end of 2029.
The investment has the potential to become one of the most important in the Polish automotive industry in the coming years.
